Wrinkles - the facts of growing older
Most if not all women are concerned with them showing signs
of wrinkles and aging.
Many things can be done to prevent the visibility of wrinkles,
fine lines and loss of elasticity.
Just remember, it is never too late to start taking care
of yourself, and your wrinkles.
Aging and skin wrinkles
As people mature, the profile and structure of peoples faces
change and wrinkles start to appear.
At the early age of 25, your eyebrows start to drop down
slightly causing sagging on a small scale.
The nasal labial folds begin to deepen at the age of 30,
making themselves more distinguished.
It is possible to see crow’s feet wrinkles by the age of
40, on the outer corners of the eyes.
At 50 the nose and sides of the face start to droop slightly.
An increase in wrinkles around the eyes and on the neck are
much more visible now.
A reduction in fat and tone muscle may result in the cheeks
becoming hollow.
Wrinkles only appear on sun-damaged patches or aged skin.
By 60, there is a distinguished change in facial appearance
as wrinkles become more obvious.
Where Do Wrinkles Come From
Elastin and collagen are the fibres that produce strength
and elasticity in our skin.
Where the skin becomes slackened (due to the elastin failing
to keep its firmness), wrinkles start in the deeper layers
on the skin.
As these fibres lose their effectiveness, the willingness
to withstand gravity gives in.
We say that wrinkles are the pattern which is arranged due
to crinkling and sagging of the skin.
Crinkle type wrinkles are mainly caused by smoking, sun damage
and the environment and occur without muscle movement, mainly
in the cheeks.
On the other hand, glyphic wrinkles appear because of a continuous
movement such as frowning and squinting. BOTOX is usually
the form of method used to combat this.
Like certain BOTOX treatments, PROLOU block neuromuscular
contractions within the skin, which cause facial muscle tension.
Wrinkles are therefore reduced as the muscle contractions
are inhibited.
Wrinkles are a major visible sign of biological aging.
Expression lines or wrinkles tend to appear on the frown,
crow’s feet and laughter lines due to the repeated movement
of facial muscles.
